The program features independent, faculty-guided research; vocational counseling; and professional enrichment activities that seek to build teamwork skills and to foster critical thinking and effective communication. A total of 255 students from 49 veterinary colleges worldwide have taken part in the program since 1990.. The Leadership Program for Veterinary Students at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is a summer research experience for veterinary students who seek to broadly influence the veterinary profession through a science-based career. Established in 1989, the program is an intensive, research-oriented initiative to prepare tomorrow.
